Let Dr Aamir Liaquat rest in peace, said the family of the deceased and their counsel at the latest hearing of the petition to exhume his body for autopsy.
The counsel for the son, daughter and ex-wife of late TV anchor Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain, said that the court seems to be giving two divergent orders in the same case.
Talking to the media, Advocate Zia Awan said that the Sessions Judge of the East District has accepted their appeal and issued an injunction over the petition to exhume the late lawmaker’s body for postmortem.
He said that the court has sought a reply from East district judicial magistrate and petitioner citizen Abdul Ahad over the plea to conduct postmortem.
He said that it is very strange that a magistrate first ordered to bury the deceased without a postmortem.
The police also did not raise any objection, rather the police did not find any marks on Dr Aamir Liaquat’s body nor did they find any evidence from his room.
The family has appealed to stop post-mortem so that the body is not desecrated. Advocate Zia Awan said that after everything had been settled, a citizen filed an appeal in the court.
On the citizen’s appeal, the court ordered to exhume the body and conduct an autopsy. He said that they challenged the decision of the lower court in the Sindh High Court.
Strangely, the counsel said that another unconcerned person, the mother of the deceased’s third ex-wife approached the court and appealed for an autopsy.
The third ex-wife claimed that Aamir Liaquat’s death was not natural and that someone was involved in his death.
She urged the court to order the FIA to investigate the matter. Awan said the same court cannot make two decisions without hearing the families.
The decision was made in haste. Social media is being misled to affect the public opinion. A gang leaked bedroom photos and everyone knows who did it.
Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain’s ex-wife Bushra said that an appeal has been filed against the gang with the FIA.
